Power Supply and Cables
Warning
We strongly recommend using Zivid Power Supply and Power Extension Cables with all Zivid cameras to ensure compliance with Safety and EMC emission and immunity standards. For more info, see Regulatory Information.
Zivid Power Supply
All Zivid cameras come with a power supply of 3.2 m in length in total. The Zivid Power Supply consists of an AC/DC adapter with an integrated DC cable (1.2 m) and a separate AC power cord (2 m). The power cord comes with EU/KOR, US/JAP, CN, or UK AC plug types.
Zivid Power Extension Cables
We also offer power extension cables in 5 m, 10 m, and 20 m options. Cables of all lengths come with a female M12 connector on one end and either a straight or angled (90 degrees) M12 connector on the other end (camera side). To order Zivid cables visit Zivid WebShop.
Tip
For lengths above 20 m, extend the AC power cable side.
Tip
Cables with angled 90-degree connectors fit well with the Zivid On-Arm Mount.
Zivid strongly recommends that the cables are carefully checked before use or if run time errors occur. We also strongly recommended to tighten the M12 Jack screw all the way in on the camera side when setting up the camera. The Power connector needs to be screwed in completely to ensure the watertight IP rating of the camera.
Note
When using DC power extension cables For Zivid One+ cameras, ensure both the PC and the camera AC/DC adapter are supplied from the same power outlet.
Tip
Zivid Power Extension Cables are specifically designed high-quality cables suitable for robot applications.
See the Zivid Power Extension Cable Datasheet to check for relevant robustness cable specs such as static and dynamic bending radius and tensile strength. The datasheet also provides information about bend and twist tests.
Third-Party Power Supply
Warning
If it is necessary to use a third-party or a custom power supply, below are some critical requirements the power supply needs to meet. These are also the specs of the Zivid Power Supply.

Note
The Zivid camera is protected against reverse polarity and against overheating by a thermistor that physically removes the power.
Third-Party Power (Extension) Cables
Warning
If it is necessary to use third-party or custom power cables, follow the below instructions and critical requirements the cables need to meet. Specs in the table below for wires and cable resistance are hard requirements, while outer diameter, minimum bend radius, and bending/twisting performance are Zivid recommendations.
Wires |
21 AWG x 4 |
Cable resistance |
< 40 Ohm/Km for each of the 4 conductors |
Outer diameter (OD) |
5.6 ± 0.3 mm |
Minimum dynamic bend radius |
≥ 3 x OD = 17 mm |
Minimum static bend radius |
≥ 5 x OD = 28 mm |
Bending performance |
Bend radius: 10 x OD = 56 mm
Bend angle: ± 90°
Test speed: 30 cycles per minute
Cycles: ≥ 5 million
Cycles: ≥ 3 million (counter weight = 500g)
|
Twisting performance |
Twist distance: 50 mm
Twist angle: ± 270°
Test speed: 40 cycles per minute
Cycles: ≥ 14 million
|
Reverse performance |
Fixed spot spacing: 50 mm
Bend angle: ± 270°
Test speed: 40 cycles per minute
Cycles: ≥ 10 million
|
Tensile strength |
≥ 1200 N |
Keep the DC power cables as short as practically possible.
Warning
The DC cables longer than 20 m are strongly not recommended.
Note
When using DC power extension cables For Zivid One+ cameras, ensure both the PC and the camera AC/DC adapter are supplied from the same power outlet.
Note
Check out the specs of out power extension cable in the Zivid Power Supply Datasheet.
When using a third-party power extension with the parameters from the table, you must use two wires for 24V and two for GND. If using custom wires, ensure that their parameters give the same or better parameters as in the table above.
