Calculate FOV and Imaging Distance
Using our online calculators you can determine which Zivid camera best fits your application in terms of the FOV and distance of imaging. To get a visual representation, you can download CAD files of Zivid cameras with FOV from CAD files. For a quick reference, the table below lists the nominal FOV at each camera’s focus distance along with its optimal and recommended working distance ranges; for the full specification, see our datasheets. Use the calculators for any other working distance.

FOV calculator
The FOV calculator outputs the size of the FOV (width and height) and spatial resolution for a given Zivid camera model and the imaging working distance.
What FOV does a Zivid 2+ MR60 give at a 600 mm working distance?
At a 600 mm working distance (its focus distance) and full resolution, a Zivid 2+ MR60 gives a FOV of 579 x 469 mm. This corresponds to a spatial resolution of 0.24 mm, a point precision of 71 um, and a dimension trueness error of 0.16%.
What FOV does a Zivid 3 XL250 give at a 2500 mm working distance?
At a 2500 mm working distance (its focus distance) and full resolution, a Zivid 3 XL250 gives a FOV of 1768 x 1768 mm. This corresponds to a spatial resolution of 0.63 mm, a point precision of 265 um, and a dimension trueness error of 0.24%.
Distance calculator
The distance calculator outputs the imaging distance that a given Zivid camera requires to achieve a given size of the FOV (width and height).
What imaging distance does a Zivid 2+ MR60 need for a FOV of at least 700 x 500 mm?
To get a FOV of at least 700 x 500 mm with a Zivid 2+ MR60, the calculator gives an imaging distance of 706 mm. This distance produces a FOV of 700 x 551 mm.
Tip
Two camera models may both be in the optimal working distance for your application. In those cases choose the one with lower point precision. This is because the working distance is then closer to the focus point.
