Data Cables

Zivid supplies high-quality Ethernet cables (CAT-6A) designed specifically for robotic applications. These cables are tested for twisting, bending, and pull force. Zivid Cable Options

• 5 m, 10 m, and 25 m CAT-6A Ethernet cables

  • Straight M12 male connector (camera side)

  • RJ45 connector (computer/switch side)

• 3 m CAT-6A Ethernet cable extender

  • Angled (90 degrees) male M12 connector (camera side)

  • Straight M12 female connector (computer/switch side)

Tip

The angled 90-degree connector fits well with the Zivid On-Arm Mount.

The cables can be connected directly to the network card port on the computer or via an adapter or network switch.

For lengths up to 100 m, use a longer third-party CAT-6A cable or a network switch as an active extender/repeater together with another third-party CAT-6A Ethernet cable.

Caution

Avoid using female-to-female or other passive Ethernet extensions.

Usage Recommendations

Follow these guidelines for optimal performance:

• Check cables for damage before use or if errors occur.

• Use only Zivid approved Ethernet cables.

• Make sure all connections are screwed in completely and tightly to ensure watertight IP rating.

• When mounting the camera on a robot, use Strain Relief to protect the connectors.
