Use-case considerationΒΆ
First, we have to consider what we want to achieve:
Capture a scene from different angles?
Increase the FOV to capture a scene that cannot be captured with a single camera?
When we want to increase the combined FOV we typically want to have as little overlapping FOV as possible. In order to use multi-camera calibration, as explained in this article, the entire calibration object must fit in the overlapping FOV. Other calibration methods exist, where only part of the calibration object is visible. However, those methods are not described in this article. Robot mounting and Hand-eye calibration might be a better option for this scenario.
