Troubleshooting
When you encounter a problem with Zivid Motion you can try troubleshooting it with this guide.
For Erratas, please see Erratas. For support, see Contact Us.
Installation
pip cannot find a matching wheel
Symptom
pip install zivid_pythonmotion-*.whl fails with one of:
ERROR: <file>.whl is not a supported wheel on this platform.ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement zivid_pythonmotion.
Cause
The active Python interpreter is not one of the CPython versions the wheel supports, or it runs on a platform other than x86-64 Linux.
Resolution
If you see these errors, make sure you use one of the Python versions given in the wheel’s filename.
For example, a wheel tagged cp310.cp313 installs on CPython 3.10 and CPython 3.13.
Install a supported CPython version and create a virtual environment that uses it, here shown with CPython 3.13:
$ python3.13 -m venv .venv
$ source .venv/bin/activate
$ pip install zivid_pythonmotion-*.whl
If your OS package manager does not ship a supported version, deadsnakes or uv can install one alongside the system Python.
