HALCON and GenICam Installation Issues

If you encounter issues when trying to install and use Zivid with HALCON, please follow the steps below:

  1. On your PC, navigate to Control PanelUninstall a program, and uninstall TeliCamSDK (x64). If you encounter issues with this step contact your IT department to delete old windows registry keys.

  2. Reboot your PC.

  3. Install Zivid software using Zivid Software Installation. Be sure to enable the checkboxes GenICam GenTL Producer and Camera drivers during the installation.

  4. Reboot your PC.

  5. Check that the environment variables are set correctly. On your PC, navigate to Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystemAdvanced System SettingsEnvironmental Variables.

    Under System variables, select Path variable and click Edit… (Do not click New at this stage or you will overwrite the existing value of the Path system variable!) and make sure the value below exists; if it doesn’t, add it by clicking New.

    Note

    Make sure to have the correct path for your Zivid installation.

    Click OK to go back to the Environment variables window. Then, under System variables, find GENICAM_GENTL64_PATH variable, click Edit… and make sure that it includes the value below; if it doesn’t, add it by clicking New.

  6. Open HALCON.
