Volume of Interest

The Volume of Interest (VOI) calculator calculates the FOV and working distance for a camera given the desired VOI and potential robot clearance. Click through the list of cameras to understand which camera fits your requirements best.

Note

Set the robot clearance if the robot requires a given clearance between the camera and the volume top.

Robot clearance

Zivid defines robot clearance as the necessary space needed for the robot to move freely above a volume. For on-arm, the clearance required is given by the gripper length, the worst-case length of a picked object, plus some tolerance. The working distance is equal to the robot clearance when the robot clearance is larger than what is required for the chosen camera to cover the desired FOV.
